SWE & Twin Tiers Section Strategic Goals

Below are past goals.  Current year goal renewal is in progress.

Education & Outreach: 

  • Continue to grow career guidance programs to maximize outreach opportunities. 

    Focus on grades 6-12 

    Improve coordination w/schools

  • Scholarship:  Continue fundraising to deliver at least $7,500 annually in scholarships 

Inclusive Organization: 

  • Offer at least one program that increases diversity within SWE 
  • Hold at least one joint meeting with another organization 

Knowledge Source: 

  • Provide a conduit of information from SWE national to our members. 
  • Publish at least 4 newsletters annually 
  • Increase visibility in community 
  • Outreach to key corporate contacts 

Leadership & Professional Competency: 

  • Section leadership attends regional and national conferences
  • Encourage members to take leadership positions in local, regional and national SWE community 
  • Revitalize coaching program 

Value & Benefit: 

  • Increase membership by targeting new hires and previous members whose membership has lapsed 
  • Promote our members for national and local awards/recognition 
  • Recognize our members internally for their support of SWE 
  • Offer technical and non-technical programs for members.  (at least one of each per year) 
  • Continue to keep our 3 yearly programs vibrant (golf tournament, egg drop and certificate of merit)

National Conference: November 6-8, 2008 located in Baltimore, Maryland.
